Privacy

MixPit keeps as little as it can, sells none of it, and removes anything on request.

Last updated 16 October 2026.

Who runs this

MixPit is run by David Russell in Houlton, Maine, USA. Anything about your data goes to david@deadpixeldesign.com.

Listings

Unclaimed listings are compiled from information engineers have published on their own public profiles (currently SoundBetter): name, headline, location, prices and services. Each listing links to the source. Subgenres on unclaimed pages are MixPit's own reading of the public headline and bio.

If you're listed and want the page changed or taken down, use the form or email. Removal is done within a few days, no questions asked.

Forms

Three forms on the site collect information you type in:

  • Get listed / claim. Your name, email and whatever you add about your work. Used to build or update your listing and to reply to you.
  • Request a quote. Your band name, email, the details of the record and the engineer you picked. MixPit forwards this to that engineer by email and copies you in. After that the conversation is between you and the engineer.
  • Newsletter. Your email, used only to send The Heavy Mix. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, or reply and say stop.

Submissions are stored by Netlify, which hosts the site, and emailed to MixPit. They are never sold or shared with anyone except, for quote requests, the engineer you chose.

Counting visits

MixPit counts page views and clicks on outbound links so engineers can be told how much attention their page gets. The count is a number per page per day. No cookies, no IP addresses, no device details, nothing that identifies you. There is no third-party analytics script on the site.

Cookies and embeds

MixPit sets no cookies. Claimed profiles can embed sample players from YouTube, Spotify or SoundCloud; if you play one, that service may set its own cookies under its own policy.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep standard access logs for a short time. See Netlify's privacy policy.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what MixPit holds about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email david@deadpixeldesign.com and it gets done.
